i was drawn to the ocean

Word of the day is edify. And no, Milena, that doesn't have anything to do with Avery. ;-)

Fell asleep on the couch for the 2nd night in a row last night. Yes, i am still adjusting to the increased dose of lithium. So here's some grats from yesterday:

Completely unrelated to aphids, aphid being my word of the day today, i just learned about the braconid wasp, after discovering one in my kitchen. i am so proud of myself for learning now, rather than just squashing and disposing. Key facts about braconid wasps: they are solitary, parasitic, and considered beneficial.

i told Milena i would make a yummy dessert tonight. i did.

i made brownies. i forgot to put the oil in.

They were very...flat and spongey. And dry, but not really. But not moist and gooey and yummy as brownies should be. Bummer.

Today i learned more about a couple of insects that squicked me. Now i'm not so squicked by them. Knowledge truly is half the battle. We fear what we don't understand. Just take me and spiders as a classic case-in-point. Why, they're even on my grat list tonight!

We had spicy bean and cheese soup for dinner tonight, which is Milena's favourite. i let Idgie have some leftovers. Yeah, i'm not the brightest star in the sky...she now has *uber* stinky pup-gas.

i'm still not quite used to being able to hear so much traffic noise. i try not to let it bother me because i love living here so much. What a duality being able to hear the locusts and see the stars, yet also being able to hear cars and trucks and see the reflection of the traffic light.

i hope Shelby doesn't miss her bus again in the morning. i still can't believe her school starts at 7:15!!! Well, at least she has been getting to bed at a decent hour.

Milena's been ready for bed for some time now, and i'm rapidly getting more and more there myself....ugh, ohmygawd that dog STINKS! i'm outta here...
