i was drawn to the ocean

i've just made a major dent in my inbox.  This is a good thing.  What's not good is the terrible true story i happened upon as a result.

See, my mom sent me one of these email forwards requesting my "signature" on a petition.  i checked it out on snopes and was horrified to find that this was a true story, albeit one with some inaccuracies, for example the incident occurred in Liverpool, England, NOT Liverpool, NY as the email forward stated. 

Here's the snopes write-up.  WARNING:  This is nothing short of horrific.  It's depressing, it's appalling, and it's a bit graphic in descriptions.

i'm just... dumbfounded, appalled, disgusted, HORRIFIED that this actually happened and that the boys who did it are now as free as if they'd never done a thing.  i just can't believe it.  And it SCARES me.  This type of incidence PROVES to me that even young children can be capable of such demented, psychopathic, remorseless, depraved behaviour.

And i thought i was depressed BEFORE i read that.
