busy rainy day
I had to go out in the crappy rain today 5 times. 5 times. Oy.
So I actually drag myself out of bed at like 6:30 a.m. Not on purpose mind you. Evan wanted to nurse. I had planned on getting up at 7:00. So by 7:30 I am showered, dressed (to the shoes even!) and my bed is made. Imagine that. ALL of my dear children are awake. So I fix them all up with breakfast. Have some coffee and cinnamon sugar toast myself. Except this was my first time using my 4 cup coffee maker that I got from Noreen, and I put too much water in it, and it started to overflow on the counter! Ack! Fortunately I noticed it before it got too bad, now I just have some coffee-water-soaked towels, lol.
8 a.m. Amber arrives.
8:15 or so. Mom and I leave (Evan goes with us) to take Mom to the trim shop to get the head liner fixed on her car. So I bring her back home, nurse Evan again, and do the dishes that didn't get done last night. :-(
10:40 a.m. I leave for the parent-teacher conference with Mr. Feldmann. Matthew wants to go with me but I kindly remind him that he is neither a parent nor a teacher. And off I go.
Wheee! The ChristinaCoaster takes off again! Conference with Feldmann goes very well. Matthew's only behaviour issue in class is excessive talking and it is usually because he is interested in the topic, or trying to help another student, as opposed to "social" talking. Feldmann is very impressed with Matthew memorization skills, mastery of phonics/learning to read, reading comprehension, and spelling! Yay!
But. Then I come home. Amber is upset. Matthew's behaviour in my absence was horrible.
So we have lunch.
1:40 p.m. Amber, Evan, and I leave to run some errands and then go to my chiro appointment. Wheeeee! Matthew and Avery stay home with Mom.
We go to Snooty Fox where I dropped off two baby outfits and had $25 coming to me. Very cool. Then to put gas in my on-E car! Ack! Then to the chiro.
Now. I had never been to a chiropractor before, so I was scared. I didn't know what to expect. It was an unusal and oddly emotional experience for me. As for the emotional part, I have no idea. Anyway, crrrrrrrrrack! goes my neck, first to the left then to the right. Then I get my back pushed on and crrrrrrrack again. Then I lay on this strange water table thingy that is warm and has water jets but they're under the table so you don't get wet. Like a water bed that's the size of a cot. Very odd. Haven't yet formed an opinion on this whole chiro thing, will see how the next appt goes which will be on Friday.
Wheeeee! After the chiro appt I stop at 5/3 to deposit some checks. Then take Amber home. Evan and I go back home again.
Matthew has been aping up again. Argh. After a screaming match that I am none too proud of, I get control of myself, and get him to pick up his room like a sane human being. Nurse Evan, change both babies' diapers, and then off we all go to take Mom to pick her car back up.
Wheeee! Back home again, Avery is playing. I am fixing dinner while giving Matthew his spelling words. We have dinner. Zane and Aiden arrive. Zane, Evan and I leave for the iridology seminar at the library.
Wheeee! The seminar was cool. The lady seemed really nice and her rates are very reasonable. I asked her about Clayton and she had heard of it and thought highly of it. She also teaches kundalini yoga, so I mentioned Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa and as it turns out, she has met her!!! How cool is that! Evan fussed so I ended up standing in the back of the room doing the hold-the-gassy-baby dance, but I still really enjoyed the lecture. It was very interesting.
Wheee! Back home again. Show Mom some of the handouts from the iridology lecture and she is interested in seeing the woman for a consultation. So I suggest we go together some time. :-)
