i was drawn to the ocean

While waiting for dinner to simmer a little longer (green beans with ham, potatoes, and onions), i was checking out the new website:  http://change.gov.  i watched Obama's speech again, and within seconds, all three of my children were crowded  around me, wanting, too, to watch.  While i am usually loathe to let them look over my shoulder when i'm online, i encouraged them to invade my personal space, Avery and Evan to sit on my lap together, and watch this beautiful speech with me.  They were mesmerized, all three of them.  And all three of them watched President-Elect Barack Obama speak for the entirety of that 17-minute speech.  Beginning to end, all three of them.  i was moved to tears again, just as i was on November 4.  Evan got a piece of paper and a pen and started asking me how to spell Barack, Obama, America, and man.  i can't tell what he was drawing and writing, but i can tell that it's important to him, and you know what?  It's important to me, too.  i am so proud to be the mother of three little boys who are so in awe of Mr. Barack Obama.

Edit:  Now Evan just asked me how to spell "cool".  LOL.  Kid's got it goin' on, eh?
